After many hours of work, I have a little something to share with you folks; a video suppliment to yesterday's post which I've spent the better part of the evening working on.

It's the first video I've ever produced, and so I do hope you'll be kind in your appraisal of this effort.

I love the flared cowl-things that the slugs . . . erect . . . when they're getting ready to mate (just before the cocks come out, you can see that the slugs both have cobra-like hoods) -- I didn't realize that those parts were extendable. Fascinating stuff!

Those cowl things are actually fleshy coverings which - odd as it may seem - conceal a simple, rudimentary shell underneath, not unlike a snail, but obviously much, much smaller.

My voice is actually rather idiosyncratic; I occasionally have my fellow Canadians ask me where I'm from because they can't quite place the accent.

I do of course have a website, but it's SO neglected at this point that it would take an exceptionally long time to get it up to my personal standards for current use.

I find "throwing something up" is the best way to motivate me to update something, as in the shame of having something so unfinished and/or ugly is a goad to go back and fix it. By definition a perfect website doesn't need to be messed with ever again.

Oh, yes! Yes indeed. There's always tons of research and preparation that goes into any one of my more ambitious projects. I also spent hours downloading public domain classical music looking for one with JUST the right air of whimsical menace WITHOUT being "Night on Bald Mountain" for the background.
